Meeting reminder

Important information on Safety and Awareness

We would like to reiterate the importance of following the COVID-19 advice from gov.co.uk. 
In these uncertain times and in light of recent information, we are depending on all our parents taking sensible precautions in order to minimise the risk to students and staff at the Gurukula especially those in the vulnerable category. 
If you are in any doubt of the protocol please read the latest government guidelines.
On a further note, the safety of your children is of the utmost importance to us. 
 
Therefore we would like to bring to your attention concerns about the children climbing the trees and the raised rocky area in the school car park while waiting to enter the Gurukula. They are at risk of hurting themselves and others around them.
 
It is your responsibility, therefore, to refrain your children from such activities while they are under your supervision on the school grounds.

Attendance Update

We would like to remind you that your child can attend school with minor coughs and common colds as advised on the NHS website: 
 
Update on attendance for this week is 88%. Nationwide required attendance is 97%. 
Jagannatha Class – 81%
Baladeva Class – 89%
Vrindavan Class – 94.6%
The school starts with the faith curriculum at 8.50am, please ensure that children are at school on time as they are missing out on this important aspect of their day. Thank you for bringing your children in on time. 
 
Social Distancing
It has been noticed and pointed out to us that parents are not keeping to the social distancing guidelines. Please adhere to the government guidelines to protect yourself and others. The 2m distancing still applies and more information can be found here:

Illness, vomiting and diarrhea

Dear parents
Hare Krishna to you all hope you had a well rested weekend.
This is just a reminder that if your child is unwell and has vomited or had diarrhoea, they should stay away from school for 48 hours.
Please note that vomiting and diarrhoea are NOT Covid-19 symptoms.

Jagannath class – 94%
Baladeva Class – 92%
Vrindavan Class – 97%
Whole school attendance is at 94.6% and the national average is 97%.

Important Gurukula online meeting – 21st to 23rd September **With links to meeting**

It is so lovely to see the kids back at Gurukula. They have settled in wonderfully and that is a credit to all of you. And amazingly we are doing great with punctuality!!! So a massive pat on the back there.

As we get into the new school year we wanted to give you an update of how the Gurukula is getting on, to talk to you about some of the decisions that were made over the summer and the plans that we have going forward.

So we’ll be having three online sessions, similar to how we did at the end of term last year. There is a session for each year group and if the majority of us can attend or designated year group meeting that will be best. If however you can’t make your session feel free to join any of the other ones. I encourage all parents to join these sessions. It is a perfect time to get the latest news and to ask questions or give comments.

Purushottam month children’s challenge

Please see the link below for a fun 29 day challenge for your children to complete during the auspicious Purushottam adhika month.
I hope you will encourage them to take part and have Krishna conscious fun  as a family too.
Also, just a heartfelt thank you to all the parents and volunteers who have come in this week: Jai Radhika, Sudevi, Bhargavi, Michaela, Yoga Maya, Sita and Mo prabhu.
Thank you also to Nila Madhava for the wonderful donation of  sets of  japa mala and tulasi neck beads which were given as a gift  to those  children who were not wearing neck beads today and to Krupa for the generous donation of Bhagavad Gitas for the children to use in class.
